Our Mission - Our Mission is to inspire and empower women of all walks of life to face their challenges head-on, showcase their accomplishments and make a difference in the lives of others.
Mums on a Mission - It all began in 1997 when our National Director Ferial Youakim enlisted on her friends to coordinate their first Melbourne cup fundraiser and raise some funds for the Children's Hospital at Westmead, NSW Australia. Motivation, enthusiasm, commitment, dedication and hard work led this group of women to raise more than one million for various charities and worthy causes in Australia and in the U.S.
We have women everywhere working together for the same cause. This group of women have been recognised for many of their charitable works. Mums on a Mission received both the NSW and National Gold Volunteer Award from the Australian National Health and Medical Research Council. The founder of Mums on a Mission and the National director for Mrs, Ms, Miss & Miss Teen Australia International Ferial Youakim was also nominated for the Australian of the Year Award for her philanthropic work.
The purpose of this group is to unite women by inspiring, empowering, supporting, and enriching each and every one of them to help the less fortunate and make a difference. This could not have been achieved without the support of generous people like yourselves.
Become an Ambassador – Our contestants are encouraged to find a sponsor, set dates for their activities and fundraising events throughout their contestant year. As a dedicated contestant it is your duty to find a person or a business to become a sponsor and support your journey. In return you will become the Brand Ambassador and the spoke-person of the business, you will represent todays women, your community and country along your journey.
Program 1: An Independent Fundraising Event - As a contestant, you will have up to 12 months to work on a platform for a selected charity you wish to represent. You must set at least one date to showcase your platform and charity of your choice. This is not based on how much you raise but how active you are in your community. Lets say you raised $5,000 in one event while other contestants raised $5,000 in three events, they will have an advantage. However, if both did three events each, then the greater amount raised will determine who has the greater advantage.
Program 2: A Day of Beauty - All contestants will be visiting the Children's Hospital at Westmead to present them with the proceeds raised from the 'Day Of Beauty - The Beauty Of Giving'. Select hairdressers, beauticians, image consultants and day spas to sponsor you by donating a set fee of $250 or a percentage (e.g. $25%) of sales from beauty consultations, hair treatments or any services they provide their clients for our mission.
Program 3: Contestant Journey - All contestants are encouraged to allocate a business or a personal sponsor to assist and support with some of the costs associated with their journey.
Program 4: National Crowning Event - All state winners must attend, work and support in the organisation of the state and National Crowning Event by sourcing and co-ordinating gifts to raise some funds and finance their training and hotel expense.
So let’s work together to raise some FUNDS, have some FUN and make a difference!
