Positivity: Does Each Cloud Have a Silver Lining?

Every Cloud Has a Silver Lining

No matter what you do or how hard you try to avoid it, bad things can happen when you least expect them. When we are in the middle of a stressful situation and feel overwhelmed by emotions, it's easy to focus on the negative side of life. Some people say that every cloud has a silver lining, but finding the positive side of a bad situation is not always easy. While it's important you appreciate every victory, it's also vital you remember that times of hardship will build your character and make you even stronger. To make you as efficient as possible, your brain will default into certain habits when you find yourself in familiar situations. Most people start looking at all of the bad things in their life when they feel stressed, but you can combat that problem by becoming aware of it. Force yourself to find something good out of the next negative event that happens, and you might surprise yourself. If you are unable to see the silver lining right away, you can give yourself some time to process your emotions and try again.

For example, feeling heartbroken after a losing a competition is normal, and people will often dwell on the past and wish to try again. However, before you compete again, you need to reflect and work on your mistakes. Let these issues teach you valuable lessons before it is impossible. The same concept is true when someone loses a job or does not get into the college that they had wanted.

After a stressful event takes place, give yourself some time to process your emotions and heal. Even though you might not feel up to it, force yourself to spend time with your friends or family, engaging in activities that you enjoy. Doing so will help you calm your emotions enough to reflect and to make the most of any situation that you face.

We would love to have you compete again and behind every cloud there is a silver lining. Good luck, have fun and remember Queens don't compete they simply claim their victory with Grace, Elegance and poise.
